Have a big room? Have the need for BIG, life-like bass impact? Then the PSW505 is the subwoofer for you. More than a mere brute, the PSW505 is equally at home reproducing all the subtle nuance of a plucked string bass as it is belting out a rocket's roar. Full-featured and over-powered, the PSW505 will rock your world and tick off your neighbors.

Summary: OUTSTANDING Subwoofer for the Money. Wow!
Comment: I have this subwoofer paired with a set of near-audiphile quality KEF Five-Two 11 speakers, and my home theater system sounds incredible. The bass is stunning. I am careful that the bass is not turned up too high, because too much bass ruins the sound with muddiness, and yet this subwoofer cleanly shakes the house during action scenes.
The bass rumbled an upstairs bedroom with the door closed during Star Wars I. The low bass in in U2's song "Please" sounded superb. This subwoofer can go real low if you have it positioned right.
I am shocked that a subwoofer can sound this good and create such a great home theater experience for under $300.
Now to nitpick: It could use more definition and precise clarity, which is why it costs under $300 and not $2,000. The driver is surrounded by styrophome, which means it will last only a few years. Also, high-end satellite systems (with small drivers) ideally could use a subwoofer with a higher extension, such as to 200 HZ. This subwooder is flat up to around 150 HZ and down to about 30 HZ. For most people, this a terrific subwoofer and an amazing deal under $300.
If $200 to $400 is your price range, than I highly recommend this subwoofer. If you can afford to spend $700 for better quality, than do it. Otherwise, this subwoofer is incredible for the price.

Summary: If it sounds good; enjoy it!
Comment: I'm not technically sophisticated enough to really critique this powered subwoffer; however, I like deep and distinctive bass sounds and this one provides that. For those people like me - looking for a speaker that sounds good - I would recommend it.

Summary: Excellent bass reproduction
Comment: Excellent bass reproduction on movies. I have not used it on music very much yet, but initial impression is that it does well on bass instruments in tunes where these have been mixed in well. I have a fairly large room (~20'x18') where I have placed the sub woofer and the unit provides more than adequate power for the room.

Summary: Sub-woofer.
Comment: Good product. Maybe a little too much for my small room, but great quality.
